About Susie
Susie “paints” with textiles to create fabric art. This has opened a whole new world in using fabrics, dyes, paints, threads, beads, rocks, natural materials and embellishments to create fabric art.
Susie serves on the Board and is Vice President of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA), a global organization promoting art quilts as fine art. She also serves on the Indiana Heritage Quilt Show Board as Special Events/Exhibits Chairman, is a member of American Quilt Network, (AQN), Surface Design Association (SDA) and is an active member of the Bloomington Quilters Guild.
Nature inspires her. Susie is drawn to the shapes, colors, lines, texture, and the beauty of our world. Susie is intrigued by architecture. She addresses personal, social, and environmental issues. Her artwork tells a story. She is excited to pursue this path of creativity and expression and finds that once inspiration takes hold it’s all consuming.
Susie hopes her work will inspire others to look more closely at the world around them and see the extraordinary within the ordinary. She states it is an honor and privilege to have found this means of expression and to be able to share her voice with others.
